Synthetic Porcelain with liquid Glass Additive
The advancement in technology has allowed the bathtub refinishing Industry to excel leaps and bounds within the last 5 - 7 years.
Today a local bathtub refinishing pro in Dallas was called out to Arlington, Tx. A customer needed a bathtub and tile surround refinished and wanted to make sure it would be money well spent.
Dallas Bathtub Refinishing was the company using the synthetic porcelain Spray with liquid glass additive.
The before and after results were posted below. This was accomplished by not only etching the bathtub and tile both but also by using the Fusion Lock molecular bonding agent hand rubbed into the pores created by the etching process. This concluded with 9 layers of synthetic porcelain with liquid glass additive being fused into the old surface. Bathtub Refinishing
I do not downgrade anyone
I was called out today to fix an issue that had occurred after another company refinished a tile wall surround. The customer was sure the other person had done a terrible job. However, I found water behind the coating when I sanded it off. The positive part is I was able to sand it down and fix it. I think we need to focus on fixing issues. Not belittle our fellow competitor. To be honest this was not the refinishers fault. It's not the homeowners fault either and placing blame does not fix it. Let's just get it fixed. That is why refinishing is so great! It can ALWAYS be fixed.
Let's not point fingers and be dishonest and unprofessional. Instead, let's enjoy life! Nothing is worth stressing over, loosing sleep over.
Today in Dallas that needed a cultured marble bathtub refinished and I also refinished a small shower pan for him at n/c. He was just the type of guy that was so easy to get along with. He was very appreciative of the work being done and it really, truly makes the day a blessing when you are able to make a living working for great people like this.
The cultured marble bathtub had just yellowed and discolored from years of use. Nothing too terribly bad but it happens with normal use over time and he had purchased the home about a year before so you never know what kind of chemicals were used on the tub prior to him taking the home over. The cultured marble bathtubs and bath vanities have what is called a gel coat that seals these off. The gel coat is like a plastic sheen and if you have ever owned one of these type surfaces you will notice they tend to scratch over time. These scratches will appear as dirt to the naked eye so before long you end up beating your head against the wall trying to understand why the tub or vanity looks dirty.
When this happens there is nothing you can do but with any type of cleaner that is going to make it look good again. However, It sure does not mean you have to spend thousands of dollars and endure weeks of dust replacing it. Refinishing the structure will give it a new life again. This not only works for Cultured marble but works equally well for fiberglass, cast iron, porcelain and tile when customized with the correct liquid glass and fiberglass resin additives.
